Omanhene Kwabena Asante’s criticism of the United Showbiz program as being ‘useless’ received harsh criticism from Anim Addo.

The attack on the UTV studios on Saturday night during a live broadcast has been denounced by the Ministry of Information.

On Sunday, October 8, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the minister of information, issued a press release that read in part: “The right to free expression and the freedom of the media are key pillars of our democracy and must be fiercely protected.”

Mr. Oppong Nkrumah added that when the Media Monitoring Centre was informed of the thugs’ permitted invasion of the studio to express their unhappiness with the content of the live broadcast, the Ministry made a report to the Ghana Police Service to interfere during the attack.
