Final funeral ceremonies for KK Kabobo are scheduled for June 15 and 16 in Accra.

On June 15 and 16, 2024, in Accra, the last funeral rites for the late Highlife legend Kwabena Kwakye Kabobo, also referred to as KK Kabobo, will take place.

At the one-week memorial service for the late Highlife icon, which took place at the Police Depot in Accra, the funeral dates were revealed.

In attendance to pay their respects to the late master were a number of well-known Ghanaian musicians, including Abrantie Amakye Dede, Okyerema Asante, and Obuoba JA Adofo. The ceremony took place on Saturday, April 20.

At the University of Ghana Medical Center on Thursday, March 14, 2024, KK Kabobo passed away following a protracted fight with liver disease.

The late Highlife icon was a board member of the copyright management team and a member of the Professional Musicians Association of Ghana (PROMAG).

After becoming well-known for his famous song “Onyame Ahu,” he formed Explosive Jets, his first band, in 1978.

He spent two years working as a student teacher prior to beginning his music career. K.K. Kabobo had five baby mamas and is survived by sixteen offspring.
